As 2025 draws to a close, Optispan has reached significant milestones. Our team has strengthened and aligned around our mission, and under Dr. Byrne's leadership, our clinical programs have matured into what we believe is among the top Healthspan Medicine offerings in the world. We've witnessed inspiring client success stories, people whose lives look and feel meaningfully different because of the work we're doing together. Several of these stories will be featured on the Optispan Podcast soon.

A major achievement this year has been launching the first iteration of the Optispan Health Intelligence Platform, featuring longitudinal data tracking, comprehensive biomarker analysis, intuitive visualizations, world-class data security, and integrated AI. This is the beginning of a system that can fundamentally change how proactive health is delivered.

Holiday Message: Give yourself permission to be human this season. Enjoy the meal, enjoy the people. One or two festive days won't derail your healthspan. What matters is the pattern you return to: quality meals, movement, real sleep, mindfulness, and meaningful relationships.

Clinical Update: Sleep & Longevity By Dr. Nicki Byrne, MD

Sleep is one of the most accessible longevity tools available. Research shows that adults who average 7–8 hours of sleep per night live longer and maintain better health. Sleeping less than 7 hours increases mortality risk by ~14%, while regularly exceeding 9 hours is associated with ~24% higher risk.

But duration is only part of the story. Sleep regularity matters. Irregular bedtimes increase mortality risk even when total hours are adequate. Sleep quality is critical, deep sleep clears metabolic waste (including beta-amyloid linked to Alzheimer's), while REM sleep supports emotional regulation and memory.

Poor sleep impacts cardiovascular health, metabolism, immunity, and cognitive function. Sleep well and sleep consistently: it's one of the most powerful medicines we have.
